NATHALIE POHL: FIRST GERMAN SWIMMER TO CONQUER THE TSUGARU STRAIT IN JAPAN

AFTER LAST YEARS JAPAN DRAMA, IT JUST HAD TO WORK OUT THIS TIME. WE DIDN’T WANT TO LEAVE ANYTHING TO CHANCE, SO MY TEAM AND I TOOK A LOT OF TIME TO PREPARE AND PLAN.

The hard work was to pay off on 05 August.

The press wrote: “With an outstanding time of 10:09 hours she crossed the passage known for its countless pitfalls, at 12:30 noon (UTC+9) she reached the finish on the coast of the Matsumae Peninsula on Hokkaido. This makes Nathalie not only the first German swimmer, but also the fastest European to complete the strenuous open water route between Japan’s largest islands.”

This is really a huge success for me and brings me a big step closer to my big dream of completing the Ocean’s Seven Challenge!
