THE MEANING OF THE OCEAN’S SEVEN

Open water swimmers all over the world are flirting with this very special challenge: the ultimate adventure, the great long-term goal, the holy grail of open water swimming.
The Ocean’s Seven requires hard training, perfect preparation and an iron will – that’s exactly why I want to master this challenge.

“I LOVE TO PUSH MY LIMITS AND GROW BEYOND MYSELF”

WHAT ARE THE OCEAN’S SEVEN

In order to complete this challenge, the seven most difficult straits in the world have to be swum. A great adventure that takes me across the globe and confronts me with new obstacles at every stage. The Ocean’s Seven is the toughest challenge open water swimming has to offer – and only 20 swimmers have managed to complete it so far.

MY STAND WITH THE OCEAN’S SEVEN

With the Strait of Gibraltar, the English Channel, the Santa Catalina Channel off Los Angeles and the Tsugaru Strait in Japan, I have already achieved four milestones on my journey, which I am quite proud of. The next destinations on this exciting journey are the Cook Strait in New Zealand, the connection of the Hawaiian islands Moloka’i and O’ahu and the North Channel between Ireland and Scotland.

I have already achieved a lot and overcome many hurdles and setbacks along the way. But I will not give up and I will not be satisfied until I become the 21st person ever to be included in the list of Ocean’s Seven conquerors.
