„THE OPPORTUNITY TO TRAVEL THE WHOLE WORLD IS A GREAT SIDE EFFECT OF OPEN WATER SWIMMING. A VERY SPECIAL HIGHLIGHT IS DEFINITELY THE RACE ON THE BOSPORUS.“
The 6.5 km race is the only one whose route crosses two continents. The more than 2,000 participants start in the Asian part of Istanbul, cross under the famous Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, passing picturesque bays and lighthouses until they arrive in European Istanbul. An absolutely impressive setting that attracts many top international swimmers every year, and not without reason. It was also exciting to arrive at the finish together with so many fellow swimmers. Normally I swim alone in the open water, so that was a good change. After 58 minutes and 12 seconds, I crossed the finish line as the second fastest woman and was very happy about the “Intercontinental Swimmer” certificate!
